Keep Ivins Ivins
I’m a 30+ year Ivins resident running for City Council. I’m worried our beloved community is changing too fast, losing its unique spirit. I’ll fight to keep Ivins family-friendly, fuel our economy with small businesses, and protect the natural beauty that defines us. Let’s plan the next 30 years together to keep Ivins Ivins.

About me

I’m Dillon Hurt, a lifelong resident of Ivins, Utah. I was raised by two public servants—my father, Paul, an educator for over 30 years, and my mother, Shellie, who served with the Ivins Fire Department for 18 years. Their dedication taught me that real leadership starts with service.

In 5th grade at Red Mountain Elementary, my brother and I won an essay contest to name the new city park, proposing “UNITY Park” to stand for Uniting Neighbors In Ivins Together Year-round. Though not a perfect acronym, it reflected our young understanding of the importance of unity—a principle I still hold dear.

After graduating from Snow Canyon High School, I served a church mission in West Virginia that deepened my love for community and connection. I earned a master’s degree in business which led to launching my own small business, DIM Shade Co., while also raising a family with my wife, Kylee, right here in Ivins.

I am running for Ivins City Council to give back to the community that has given me so much. My vision is to maintain Ivins’ unique small-town charm while addressing the challenges of growth with thoughtful planning and inclusive leadership. With my experience in business, education, and community service, I am prepared to listen to your concerns, advocate for responsible development, and ensure Ivins remains a place where neighbors unite to support one another. I humbly ask for your vote to serve as your voice on the City Council.

why I’m Running:

01

Smart, Responsible Growth

Dillon Hurt defends the right to choose where we live. He believes Ivins must manage growth wisely—expanding roads, water, and safety services without burdening current residents. Dillon supports affordable housing, balanced development, and protecting property rights from government overreach—ensuring infrastructure keeps pace and every family has the opportunity to thrive in Ivins’ beautiful, welcoming community.

02

Upholding Property Rights

Dillon Hurt fiercely defends property rights as a cornerstone of American liberty. He opposes intrusive government regulations that treat property owners like subjects of an overbearing HOA. Dillon believes you should control your land, provided it doesn’t harm neighbors or create genuine safety concerns. Local government’s role is to protect freedom, not to dictate every detail of your property use.

03

Water Solutions Through Innovation

Water is life, and no one understands that more than those of us who call this beautiful desert home. Dillon Hurt recognizes the importance of finding innovative solutions to meet the water needs of our community. Rather than focusing solely on heavy-handed regulations, he seeks to foster an innovative environment by educating citizens on how they can use their personal choice and responsibility to conserve water. Dillon also supports using economic incentives such as tiered pricing for water and participation in the State's water banking act.

04

Fiscal Conservatism and Low Taxes

Dillon Hurt is a fiscal conservative who believes tax dollars are sacred and must be spent wisely. He opposes tax hikes and the reckless spending. Government’s role is to protect life, liberty, and property—not to redistribute wealth or compete with private enterprise. Dillon will fight to keep Ivins fiscally responsible, ensuring every penny serves the people.

05

Preserving Ivins’ Natural Beauty

Ivins’ stunning landscapes define our community. Dillon Hurt is committed to safeguarding trails, parks, and public lands from overdevelopment. He’ll ensure future generations inherit the same awe-inspiring views and recreational opportunities we treasure, balancing growth with the preservation of our natural heritage.

06

Unwavering Support for Public Safety

Dillon Hurt knows strong public safety is the backbone of a thriving community. He proudly backs law enforcement and first responders, ensuring they receive the funding, training, and competitive wages they deserve. Safe streets are non-negotiable for our children’s future, our quality of life, and a prosperous economy.
